ROBERT LEVY
AAA,ISA,AM
In his early career Robert Levy served as an apprentice to several of the leading renowned experts of the past generation, including Rainer Kreissl and Rudolph Neumeister. He worked at several of the leading international auction houses, including Neumeister’s, Sotheby’s and Butterfield’s (now Bonham’s) writing their catalogues, consigning major estates, interfacing with fiduciaries and performing outside appraisals on their behalf. Establishing his own practice to provide independent appraisals to financial institutions and insurance companies as well as individuals in 1979, Mr. Levy chose to specialize in appraisals as opposed to art dealing, per se. Clients have included most major bank trust offices, law firms, accounting firms, insurance companies, the federal government and many major collectors throughout the US.
“As a generalist, I can usually identify and handle over 90% of all mainstream fine art, antiques and general contents. We maintain an extensive list of associates for specialty areas such as gemology, numismatics, antiquities, old masters, ethnographic art, etc. as needed”. -RL
The overall concept is to provide as much comprehensive service in house as possible so as to keep the service affordable to individuals and fiduciaries alike. The idea is to view each assignment uniquely and build a team of experts depending upon the nature of the collection.
